If you wish to arrange a funeral at St John’s, the funeral director will be able to help make arrangements. Or contact Rev Chris first if you have questions about it.
If you are interested in having a baptism here are not a regular member of St John’s, the first thing to do is to come to a service and introduce yourself to Rev Chris, who will guide you from there. Baptism is a sign and seal of God’s grace and forgiveness and is a sign of belonging to the Church. At St John’s we baptise children as well as adults. Children are baptised on the understanding that the child will be brought up to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. At a child’s baptism, parents and godparents are asked to make promises about their own commitment to following Jesus. For parents who are not regular at St John’s, we ask you to complete a short course going through the basics of the Christian faith. If you are not quite ready to make the promises involved in a baptism, you could consider a service of Thanksgiving instead.
