Future events

Canon Andrew White, Vicar of Baghdad, will be at St Peter's, Brockley (corner of Wickham and Cranfield roads) on Friday 22 January at 7.30pm to talk about:
  • the rebuilding work of the church and clinic after the bombings
  • his work for reconciliation with ALL religious leaders in Iraq
  • his work with Iraqi, American and British authorities
  • his work for the release of hostages.
Please come, if you can, and tell others who may be interested in coming. Please pray for Andrew and those who work with him: for their safety and for fruitfulness in their work.
Thursday 6 May St John's is being used as a polling station.
Saturday 8 May 10-3 a marriage course for couples preparing for marriage or married couples wanting to build on their relationship (includes lunch).
Saturday 17 July 3.00pm a celebration of 55+ years of ministry as we mark the retirement of Rev Pat Soer. Service followed by tea. Guest preacher Canon April Keech.

Other news and notices

Flowers

If you would like to provide flowers to decorate the church please put your name on the flower rota. Money for flowers goes to Rita Umurhurhu. Rita would welcome one or two others to help arrange flowers.
Worship rota The new worship rota is on the table in the lobby. If you are unable to manage a particular date please arrange a swop with someone else and inform the warden on duty for that Sunday.
Sabbatical Our team rector is away on sabbatical from 4 January to 21 March. She will be enjoying a silent retreat in Wales and a family wedding in Venezuela, as well as undertaking some study. During this period our wardens team, reader and other leaders will be carrying extra responsibility. Please hold them in your prayers and give them your practical support.
At the most recent Fabric Committee meeting Eric Coudjoe was elected Chair. Johnson Adetayo stood down and was thanked for his outstanding contribution to maintaining the fabric of the church. If you have practical skills you can offer to help maintain our beautiful grade 2 listed building please speak to Eric.
